The World Filled with Love

Valentine’s Day is upon us. Undoubtedly, many people have heard about the love goddesses Aphrodite and Venus. However, in ancient times, there were hundreds of goddesses representing love. Here are a few more deities that are not as well known:

• Ishtar was a Babylonian goddess of love. Ishtar was known as queen of Heaven and associated with the planet Venus.
• The Egyptian goddess, Hathor, was the goddess of the sky, love, beauty, and music.
• Freyja was a beautiful Norse goddess of love, music, magic, and divination. She was called upon to help with matters of love. She was also loved by men, giants, and dwarfs.

All of these goddesses remind us that love is an important part of our lives. In current times, we celebrate and express love on Valentine’s Day. Our love for each other and for all things on this earth is healing and will keep us young at heart.
